Job Title: Licensing Sales ManagerPosition Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Licensing Sales Manager to lead our licensing division. This role involves managing key licensing partnerships, overseeing the execution of licensing agreements, and collaborating with various teams to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate high emotional intelligence, and possess strong problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development (20%): Identify and develop new licensing opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team, overseeing at least 2 direct reports.
  • Budget Management: Manage a licensing portfolio with an annual retail sales value of $30M.
  • Complex Use Case Management: Ensure all licensing requirements are understood and met by relevant departments.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with logistics, marketing, creative, retail, and EDI teams to ensure timely project execution.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze sales data and generate division reports.
  • Contract Negotiations: Negotiate and manage licensing agreements in coordination with the legal team.
  • Market Knowledge & Financial Analysis: Assess deal profitability, track market trends, and forecast sales.
  • Client & Partner Relations: Manage existing licensing partnerships and develop new relationships.
  • Brand Integration: Align marketing and product launch efforts with licensing timelines.
  • Logistics Support: Ship heavy product samples to licensing partners; reliable transportation preferred. If not, be prepared to walk 4 blocks to our showroom warehouse with product samples, often in high temperatures.
  • Event Participation: Attend 2-4 annual licensing events or expos, as well as all required company events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or communications.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in licensing and 3 years in sales.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and financial analysis skills.
  • Experience in retail or wholesale distribution is a significant advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of Intellectual Property Law.
  • Excellent communication skills and high emotional intelligence; able to handle pressure and change without getting emotionally triggered.
  • Proficient in creating pitch decks, sales forecasting, and data analysis.
  • Reliable transportation preferred.
